The album was supported by four singles: "Girl Tonite", "Hit the Floor", "So Lonely", and "Hope".

The Day After received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised Twista's fast and versatile flow, as well as the production and guest features. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 129,000 copies in its first week.
